Paid development

Turn your industry expertise into working software.

We design, build and launch web apps, phone apps and online subscription tools for people who know their industry. One fixed price, agreed in writing before we start.

Who it's for

Experienced professionals and business owners who see a problem in their work that software could fix, and want it built properly. You don't need a technical background or a detailed specification. You need to know the problem and the people who have it.

What we build

These are the kinds of product we build. For an example of our own work, see how we built Invoice Drop.

What's included

How it works

  1. A free 30-minute call. You tell us the problem and who has it. No cost and no commitment.
  2. A written proposal. What we'll build, one fixed price, the timeline and who owns what.
  3. Design and build. You see working versions as we go and approve each stage. Your knowledge of the industry guides the decisions.
  4. Launch. We get it ready for its first users and agree what happens next.

What we need from you: your knowledge of the problem, introductions to a few people who'd use it, and feedback on each working version.

What it costs

The first version of a product starts from £12,000. Most land between £25,000 and £40,000 and take 4 to 12 weeks. You pay in stages: a deposit to start, then payments at agreed milestones, and you see it working before each payment. Pulseni isn't VAT registered, so no VAT is added.

Not ready to commit to a full build? Start with a prototype in 2 weeks for £2,500, taken off the full build if you go ahead.

Running costs after launch, such as hosting and app store fees, aren't part of the build price. We estimate them for you before we start. See full pricing, or read what it costs to build an app or SaaS in the UK.

Ownership and handover

Who owns the product, the code and the accounts it runs on is written into your contract before any work starts. We build with proven, widely used tools, so another developer could pick the product up later and you're not tied to us.

Questions

Do I need a technical background?

No. Bring the problem and the people who have it. We turn that into a plan and explain every technical choice in plain English.

I already have a prototype. Can you build on it?

We'll look at what you have and tell you honestly whether to build on it or start again, and why.

What if I want changes during the build?

Small adjustments are part of the work. If you want something new that wasn't agreed, we tell you the cost and the effect on the timeline first, and nothing changes until you say yes.

What happens after the 30 days of bug fixes?

You can carry on without us, or we can agree ongoing support and new features. Either way, you decide.
